Through the optic nerves, which are attached to the eyes, visual information is sent back to the brain, and at the same time information is sent back to the eyes from the brain about the overall level of one’s health.
The eyes being an extension of the brain is the reason why iridology is a master science in analysing the body condition.Iridology is not itself a therapy, but rather an assessment tool. Many iridologists also use sclerology (reading the lines in the white part of the eyes) in their health evaluation.Iridologists conduct their readings using charts on which each area of the iris is mapped to a specific body system or organ. Iridology charts divide the iris into numerous zones corresponding to different parts of the body. Although the specifics may differ on each chart, all share a general pattern. The iris represents a communication system capable of handling an amazing quantity of information. It reveals body constitution, inherent weaknesses, levels of health and the transitions that take place in a person’s body according to the way he lives.The iris reveals changing conditions of every part and organ of the body.Every organ and part of the body is represented in the iris in a well defined area. In addition, through various marks, signs, and discoloration in the iris, nature reveals inherited weaknesses and strengths.
Iridology cannot detect a specific disease, but, can tell an individual if they have over or under activity in specific areas of the body. For example, an under-active pancreas might indicate a diabetic condition.By means of this art / science, an iridologist (one who studies the coloration and fiber structure of the eye) can tell an individual his/her inherited and acquired tendencies towards health and disease, his current condition in general, and the state of every organ in particular.The left eye is mapped to the left side of the body and the right eye to the right side. The top of the eye is mapped to the upper body (e.g., brain, face, neck, chest and heart). The centre of the eye is mapped to the stomach and digestive organs, with other organs being represented by concentric circular zones moving outward toward the edge of the iris. The bottom of the eye is mapped to the legs and lower half of body.
