A Iridologia oferece suporte para mudanças de cor?
Olhando para trás, é surpreendente para mim que eu pensasse que a iridologia tinha alguma chance cientificamente. Assim que dei uma olhada na anatomia básica do olho e do sistema nervoso, percebi que era impossível fazer uma mudança estrutural, mas e quanto à cor? Talvez a íris não tenha mudado estruturalmente, mas talvez fosse possível apoiar cientificamente as mudanças de cor. Eu sabia, como disse acima, que sem equipamento especial seria difícil provar ou refutar alterações significativas de cor na íris. A questão era se alguém havia feito tal observação e se ela significava alguma coisa. Para compreender quaisquer observações sobre a mudança da cor da íris, é preciso compreender o processo de desenvolvimento da cor na íris do olho. A cor base da íris é composta por células pigmentadas muito escuras que estão na parte inferior da íris e que refletem a luz azul visual, dando assim a aparência de um olho azul. Nos albinos, a falta de pigmento permite que a luz reflita nos vasos sanguíneos, dando um reflexo rosa. É o nível de pigmento nos níveis superiores (exteriores) da íris que dá variação nas cores dos olhos, do azul esverdeado ao marrom escuro. Assim como os genes influenciam o nível de pigmentação da pele, os genes influenciam a cor dos olhos e a estrutura da íris. Quando era um jovem estudante de iridologia, fui ensinado que várias cores na íris eram depósitos de substâncias químicas.
Por exemplo, uma mancha de ferrugem na íris era uma pequena mancha de um produto químico injetado de uma vacina, ou uma mancha amarela brilhante era o resultado de um depósito de enxofre no olho devido à ingestão de uma sulfa. O fato é que essas manchas são coleções de melanina; semelhante à substância que causa sardas na pele. Iridologistas eminentes escreveram em seus trabalhos que foi descoberto que essas manchas continham metais e outras substâncias em autópsias. A menos que metais ou outras substâncias tenham sido injetadas diretamente na íris, isso não pode ser verdade. Com base no fato de que a iridologia não reflete a verdadeira anatomia, fisiologia ou histologia da íris, e com base no fato de que as cores da íris não são determinadas pela entrada do nervo, tornou-se ridículo para mim acreditar que a cor da íris é qualquer indicação de saúde em órgãos remotos. Alguns iridologistas sugerem que a cor dos olhos e a estrutura das fibras são imutáveis e são úteis para indicar certa predisposição a distúrbios mentais e físicos. Esses iridologistas mais uma vez usam generalidades e outros métodos inúteis para descrever a utilidade de seu método. Infelizmente, eles falham em suas tentativas de usar corretamente a lógica e a ciência.

Iridology, is it nonsense?
Some opponents of iridology have stated that Iridology is “non-sense” but is this really the case?
First of all let’s look at the facts, most of these critics have absolutely no education or formal training in the science of Iridology yet they have a negative opinion.
They cite several poorly designed Iridology studies that have been reported in Western scientific medical journals. These studies based their evaluations on outdated principles and in many cases, employed Iridologists who had insufficient or outdated training.
Iridology, like most sciences, is constantly evolving, as new information and studies become available this does not however mean that Iridology is invalid.
The adverse effects from these negative research studies have been very destructive to the science and practice of Iridology, especially in the United States. Researchers often find these negative studies as the only sources of information on which to base their opinions.
Often times some of the same critics that claim Iridology is “non-sense” are the ones who are still debating whether or not the use of, Herbs, Chiropractic, and Acupuncture are valid forms of health care.
Meanwhile in countries such as Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and many Asian countries, have a much greater acceptance of Iridology. In fact, the Russian Government has sponsored Iridology research and has found it to be extraordinarily accurate. Many Medical Doctor’s in these countries have been using Iridology in their practice for decades.
Those who have studied the science and given it an open and unprejudiced consideration have discovered an amazingly useful, non-invasive, analytical tool.
It is of the utmost importance that a person uses good judgment when selecting an Iridologist. They must be sure that their Iridologist is properly trained with the most up to date information by an established and reputable institution.
Used correctly, iridology gives the individual, information concerning their overall health level that is not available in any other way. An iridologist’s services are an important element in a total, holistic health care program.
